Inventory Planner

Objective

The Inventory Planner is responsible for partnering with buyers on sales, margin, and inventory from item to category level. They will play a large role in planning and evaluating item-level performance compared to expectation while managing within open-to-buy parameters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Control inventory spend
  • Leverage inventory productivity goals to create urgency in buyers to keep inventory moving
  • Consistently achieve availability goals
  • Identify root cause of availability issues and develop resolution plans
  • Maintain optimal distribution center and channel inventory to balance availability and inventory productivity
  • Forecast base, promo, and kit demand
  • Collaborate with multiple buyers on SKU level promotional and event forecasts
  • Collaborate with multiple buyers on new SKU introductions
  • Create new SKU forecasts and collaborate with buyers on new SKU introduction
  • Collaborate with multiple buyers on aggressive action to move through closeout and non-working inventory
  • Create and modify purchase orders based on replenishment parameters and the replenishment schedule
  • Create allocation orders as needed for sales exceptions, one-time buys, and SKUs with supply constraints, including Adorama Business Solutions orders
  • Manage inventory system parameters
  • Maintain system lead times and order cycles
  • Follow up with suppliers on open purchase orders to ensure on time delivery
  • Collaborate with warehousing so that products are efficiently received and put away
  • Demonstrate efficient work methods and an ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Create ordering and meeting routines for work efficiency

 

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 + years inventory management experience
  • Four year college degree or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, and project management skills
