The Director of Technology will head up the Technology and Engineering division for, the premier online provider of high-quality photo printing and personalization solutions (#1 rated for photo geeks by and You will be responsible for both managing a large offshore team of developers as well as working hand-in-hand with the technology leadership team at Printique’s parent company, Adorama. This highly visible leader will partner with the Product team at Printique to develop a cohesive customer-centered roadmap that leverages the best in technology to implement a vision that brings together differentiated solutions from custom code, with best-in-class technology packages, positioning Printique for the future. You will be leading strategy and execution of large cross-functional programs, and relentlessly championing best practices in a continuously evolving and dynamic environment. A key member of the Senior Leadership team at Printique, you will have a dual reporting relationship, both to the President of Printique as well as the CTO of the parent company Adorama.

We are looking for an experienced leader to tackle ambiguous problems that span numerous complex systems including both photo lab technology as well as ecommerce, partnering with multiple entities. On the one hand, you should have a passion for requirements definition, estimate validation and program delivery, while on the other you need to be equally skilled in package evaluation, process design and people management. You will be expected to outline trade-offs between business vs. technical constraints as well as clearly communicate goals, roles, and responsibilities. Working cross-functionally, you are a passionate self-starter, who will identify and secure commitment from tech teams across both Printique and Adorama for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach, while maintaining the pace and innovative drive of a startup.  You earn trust from your direct team and stakeholders: you listen, you are inclusive, you treat others with respect, and you are willing to be vocally self-critical.


  • Accountable for overall system agility, stability, visibility, uptime, responsiveness and integrity of all Technology platforms and Infrastructure (incl photo lab machinery as well as Cloud) at
  • Create and communicate the company’s technology strategy by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment & management of current and future tech solutions.
  • Advance opportunities for greater efficiencies for Adorama company, as a whole, by developing technology solutions that better utilize shared resources to support
  • Achieve and maintain excellent relationships with Business, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product & Customer Service teams through very high levels of engagement.
  • Plan, track and control the development and deployment of annual operating and capital budgets for IT operations, staffing, and purchasing, by actively managing IT vendor relationships to realize scale benefits and maximize system utilization.
  • Define, document and communicate implementation and new operating procedures, policies, and standards for the organization for all new technologies and software packages.
  • Empower the offshore IT team by creating consensus and modulating work-flow while maintaining a high level of urgency and synergy with the Product Development Team.
  • Remain innovative in design and stay abreast of all industry hot topics and technologies and initiate smart software upgrades when appropriate.
  • Participate in the company's overall strategic plan and contribute as an input provider for business initiatives.


The ideal candidate will have a well rounded-technical background as well as a progressive history of leading large projects end-to-end, leading to a Head Technology role. Maturity, high-level judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success. B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience desirable. Strong leadership, planning and management skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, at ease presenting to large groups and executive teams.


  • Broad experience as a senior IT leader including infrastructure and technical strategy as well as architecture decisions for a successful company with 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience and 5+ years working in E-commerce.
  • Familiar with Agile/iterative development, program management and deployment methodologies leading Offshore teams. Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, and robust technical solutions. Knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Excellent Planning skills with an ability to anticipate issues and avoid time-crunches, around the curve in the road
  • Demonstrated history of implementing a suite of off-the-shelf packages to drive a cohesive solution for customers and managing the relationship with vendors.
  • Proven track record maintaining alignment and integration between Application software engineering and development, Off-the-shelf packages, IT Ops, Product development and Customer experience teams.



  • 10+ years of technology strategy and implementation experience in a Big 5 management consulting firm (Sr.Mgr level or higher)
  • Ability to review/audit efficiencies in a dotnet environment
  • Change management guru who can roll-up the sleeves to dive into the trenches as well as drive organizational transformation
  • Any experience with photo-lab machinery and technology
